Robert Logue was born in Nashville, Tennessee. After dropping
out of
college to pursue the bohemian life, he co-founded A&M Records rock band
The Royal Court of China and spent the mid-1980’s recording and touring
with the likes of the Kinks, REO Speedwagon, 10,000 Maniacs,
Red Hot
Chili Peppers, Meat Puppets, and others. In 1988 he left the
Royal Court
of China to co-found gothic folk ground-breakers The Shakers,
with whom
he recorded and toured until 1994. He published his first book
of
poetry, “4.4.4”, in 1990 and recently published an anthology
of selected
poems entitled “In the Wake of Fading Days” through Cold Tree
Press; his
poetry has appeared in a number of other books as well. He served
as
photographer for the now-defunct Nashville tabloid TAG Magazine
in the
late-1990’s, and in 2005 founded Cypocryphy.com with partner Richard
Cook to sell his pen and ink poster art as well as his
vintage-influenced nude/pin-up photography. He is also currently
working
on the first new Shakers album in over 15 years.
